As we all know, any project for the house is a hassle, especially a big one, like building a deck.  BUT it is a different story if you are building it with Eric Block! From the first time we met him we felt we were in good hands of not just a deck builder but of a deck designer.  Eric wants his clients to be happy and he made us happy!  He thinks about every detail we would not even consider.  He is extremely reliable and hard working!  The deck he built for us is so impressive and unique.  Thank you so much Eric.  If you are planning to build a deck, you should go only with Eric Block!

We received multiple quotes for the deck on our new build this spring.  Eric Block with UglyDeck not only met, but exceeded our expectations as consumers from all angles! Within days of our initial online inquiry Eric gave us a call and came on-site to begin the process with us. Eric gave us his honest opinion on what we thought we wanted after previous discussions and we couldn’t be happier now with our finished deck based on his suggestions!  Eric left and emailed over all four quote variations we requested in a timely manner.  As our summer schedule amped up we began to let our deck project fall wayside.  Eric sent us a follow-up email after a couple of weeks to check-in to see if there was anything additional he could provide or see if we had any questions.  I explained we had just been busy and would reach out once we'd made a decision.  Fast forward a couple of weeks and after continuing to shop and compare UglyDeck remained competitive from a price standpoint and stood out already on the customer service side.  Construction on our deck started almost a month ahead of schedule and Eric worked all morning, day and night on our deck until it was completed – on project we were told could take weeks from others, was completed by Eric in not even 10 days!  The yard was cleaned up each day upon departure and we’ve received nothing but positive feedback from our friends and neighbors on the demeanor, craftsmanship and finished project! We’re glad our neighbors worked with Eric and proudly posted the Ugly Deck sign in their front yard for those of us passing by and we thank Eric for making our deck a reality!

We were tired of power-washing, sanding and staining our deck. The UglyDeck.com ads caught our attention and we went and visited the showroom to get some ideas. We then called Eric Block to give us a quote. Eric came out and went over many different options with us, from different types of decking, why one product may work better for us than others, he explained the price difference between the products and last but not least, he suggested to us what he thought would look great on our home. He also suggested we put on a border that would be a color contrast with the other decking. We sensed immediately from talking with Eric that he was a contractor we could trust. He told us that he would be on the job site everyday working alongside his crew. After meeting with Eric, we did not get any further quotes and we decided this was the person we were going to hire. Eric was true to his word. He was on the job site every day. He is a true craftsman and takes pride in his work. He wants you to love your deck when he is done. He was right on with his suggestion of what we should do with our deck. We couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. Throughout the project, we got to know Eric and we consider him a friend. He has stopped by to see how we were doing and to introduce us to his family. He truly is one of those down to earth contractors that you can trust. We would not hesitate to recommend Eric.

Thank you, again, for a great job Eric! We are very pleased with the deck redo. No more staining…no more board replacement…just enjoy the living space. The view of the pond and the widening of the stairway has improved the deck greatly. Your advice on those items was spot on. I still don’t know how you managed to work right through the polar vortex, but I will mark that as a statement of a professional contractor. Please greet your lovely family for us.
