At UglyDeck, we offer professional deck installation and deck renovations. We use the latest in installation methods to offer hidden fasteners and seamless decks, providing a beautiful surface that requires minimal maintenance throughout the year.

Our Decks and Railings

As a leading deck installer in the Twin Cities, we provide the top materials to produce decks and railings that are exactly the style, color, and design desired by our customers. We are Trex deck installers, and this is an exceptional quality decking material.

Trex decks do not warp, fade, peel, splinter, or stain, and they are also a good choice for mold and mildew resistance. We can design a composite or aluminum railing system that complements the deck and house color and style, creating a beautiful addition to your home.

Our Process

As your deck installer, we work closely with you to determine the style, colors, options, features, and options that will create the deck that is right for your home. We even offer outdoor spiral staircases, which are a unique option to consider from traditional outdoor stairs.

Composite Decking FAQs

Can composite decking be installed over wood decking?
Technically, it is possible to place composite decking over an existing wood deck. However, if the wood deck is rotted, damaged, or uneven, this will impact the quality and look of the composite decking once installed. In addition, a rotten wood deck will reduce the life span of the composite deck in time.
Can composite decking be installed on concrete?
To install composite decking on concrete, it is important to first add a subfloor or substructure to keep the composite decking up and off the concrete to allow for drainage and air flow.
Can you install composite decking in cold weather?
It is possible to build and install composite decks in the winter. The composite material is resistant to the cold and can be worked with in any weather. These decks do not require staining or sealing, so they can immediately withstand water, snow, ice, and melt.
Who installs decks?
In metropolitan areas across the midwest, UglyDeck is the premier deck design and installation company.
Can Trex be installed over the existing deck?
At UglyDeck, we can work with an existing deck structure to reduce the cost to our customers. In most cases, the actual deck material should be removed, mainly if it is old, rotting, warped, or otherwise damaged. This ensures a great final product that lasts for decades.
What does it cost to install a deck?
The cost of deck installation depends on several factors, including the size and shape of the deck and what additional features, such as railing systems, stairs, pergolas, or screened areas, are required. Call on UglyDeck for a free estimate based on your project.
Can I install composite decking myself?
If you have some deck installation or basic carpentry experience, it is relatively easy to install composite decking. We provide DIY decking support with our hotline and DIY Assist Program for those who want to build their own deck.
