We are just entering the busy season here at UglyDeck.com. Our Minnesota deck builders are hard at work helping homeowners discover and create beautiful decking solutions to enjoy all summer long. There is no better feeling than helping our customers enjoy Minnesota’s beautiful weather on a new outdoor deck and the month of June is the perfect time of year for it!
One of the most common questions we receive here at UglyDeck.com has to do with the cost to build a deck. Sometimes customers will approach us with a set budget and a wish list and we will work with them to find the deck solution that works at their price point. Other times, our deck contractors will show differing deck projects at various prices to illustrate the available options. However we approach it, price is always an important factor when it comes to building a deck.
In any deck design project, there are three factors that will affect the cost to build a deck:
Labor: The costs associated with hiring a deck building company to design and construct a deck.
Materials: The costs associated with purchasing the decking materials needed to build a deck. This cost can fluctuate greatly depending on the number of decking accessories and quality of outdoor decking materials desired.
Size: The physical size of a deck will affect the overall cost. Larger decks will typically cost more in labor and materials, however uniquely shaped deck designs may also increase the price.
To help give you a better idea on how much your deck design project will cost, our friends over at TREX decking materials offer a Deck Cost Calculator on their website.
