Why Are Ducks Bad Drivers? ….their windshields are qwacked.
Now that it is springtime in Minnesota and the weather is warming up, chances are you will be spending a lot more time outside on the deck. But if you find your outdoor deck looking dull and grey after the winter, it may need some help getting it to look great again.
The Minnesota deck builders at UglyDeck.com have dealt with their fair share of ugly decks and have put together the following tips for how you can get your deck looing great this spring:
- Wash off cedar decks when it is still cool out. Washing the wood in the summer heat puts a lot of stress on it.
- Chlorine bleach and pressure washers can be too hard on the wood. Instead try using an oxygenated-bleach deck cleaner.
- Sand the deck after washing but make sure the deck has completely dried first.
- After sanding, you can start painting a deck with a semitransparent stain. The stain will protect your deck for around three years depending on its exposure to the sun.
